WHAT IS N.E.L.C.E?

North East London Community Engagement [NELCE] is a resident-based, action-oriented volunteer group celebrating and strengthening the community of Northeast London.  NELCE is a forum for residents to voice concerns and issues.  We support a strong sense of community pride and participation, provide opportunities for community leadership, and celebrate the diversity and vibrancy of London's Northeast.


2012 WINTER CARNIVAL - Join your friends and neighbours at the Indoor Winter Carnival; Saturday, February 11th from 12am to 2pm at Knollwood Public School. FREE Chilli lunch, games and activities. Brought to you by North East Working Group [of which NELCE is a member]. Click here for more details.

London Community News, Dec 24 2011: "Contributing to a warm and cuddly Christmas." Check out an article about some members of NELCE’s Cards, Games and Crafts Club (CGC) who donated their needle work to the Salvation Army Christmas Hamper Program. The CGC takes place every Monday afternoon at the Huron location. They are an amazing group! Read the article here!

"WALK THIS WAY WITH N.E.L.C.E." - Thursday from 6:45pm to 8pm - we gather in the foyer of Beacock Public Library. No costs to join. Open to all ages, including children, and walking levels. Our Group Leaders make sure that NO ONE IS LEFT BEHIND on their walk. So Come Out and Join Us - it's FREE, FRIENDLY, & FUNTASTIC!

NORTH EAST LONDON CARDS, GAMES & CRAFTS CLUB - Every Monday from 1:30pm to 3:30pm at the Highbury Room, London InterCommunity Health Centre. No admission or fee. Londoners of all ages, including men and children are encouraged to come check us out. We are a perfect gathering place for anyone who wants a place to chill and relax, meet new people, build community, socialize with different generations, or enjoy a friendly game or two. Participants who want to share their gifts and talents with others, are invited to come grow with us! Now offering:

  • Needles n Thread Group - Knitting/Crocheting/Needlework Group [Quilting Classes]
  • Crafts Corner - a different type of craft activity each week [which you take home]
  • Cards & Board Games
  • Book-Coupon Giveaway/Exchange Centre [limited quantities of book donations accepted periodically]
