NE Resident and NELCE member becomes local celebrity!

Can you identify the man in this picture?

Have you seen him "hanging out" at London's Central Library, around your community, or at a Starbucks lately?

This is Joseph Weis, a long-time NELCE member, who is on the fast-track to becoming a local celebrity!  Joe was a photo model in the LIHC's SeeMe exhibition, launched in May 2010, which brings focus on Londoners who struggle with issues such as poverty, racism, language, isolation, or lack of affordable food & housing.  These life size posters can be found all over London.  Joe was also featured in the London Free Press articles, Signs of Change (May 3, 2010), and Senior-friendly London lands WHO title (July 7, 2010).

When he is not posing in front of a camera, Joe can be found cooking up a storm in the kitchen at the LIHC-Huron office.  He is a "staple" with the monthly Community Kitchen group, and often helps with the preparation and cooking of meals for many of the NELCE special events and activities.  Most recently, Joe even helped our four-legged community members, by helping prepare homemade dog biscuits, which were then given out to each of the participants at our Beacock Barks event last month.

Joe, like the sign says, you definitely inspire positive change in Northeast London!!
